Water, Did You Know…


97% of the earth’s water is in the oceans. Did you know, it’s undrinkable and unusable for most human and commercial purposes?

Only 3% of the world’s water is fresh… with 2/3 of that being locked in glaciers and polar ice caps. Of the remaining 1%, about 1/2 is located beneath the earth’s surface. The other 1/2 is found in rivers and lakes…

Canada has some 20% of the world’s total freshwater resources. However, less than half of this water – about 7% of the global supply – is “renewable”.  13% of it is fossil water retained in lakes, underground aquifers and glaciers.
